There are thousands of books out there that try to tell you how to get into business. However, this is the only book I've read that identifies a unique business niche that is best for today's volatile economy and global marketplace. For the professional man or woman who is out of work or facing potential job loss, I strongly recommend that you read this book. It is written by a guy who has been there and knows firsthand what it takes to survive and thrive while the economy around us is crumbling.

Realistic and practical advice

This is not another get rich scheme, instead the author presents realistic and practical advice required to start a Project Management business. Starting from a self evaluation necessary to ensure you're ready, through the full life cycle of your career. Clearly organized and methodical, the book goes beyond the nuts and bolts of creating a business and provides step-by-step advice for people at various stages of their career. After a few business ventures with limited success I appreciated the low risk, low cost approach. The author sprinkles in stories from the front lines, which keeps things interesting while driving home key points. The book is very well organized - the authors years of managing complex projects serves the reader well. There's no flashy nonsense, no giant advertising campaign, nor huge bank loans, just clear advice on what works and what does not. The book has a calm and methodical tone, every step is well planned, goals are developed, risk is calculated, and the business is run like a project. I also find it refreshing that someone finally called B.S. on the notion that you need to risk it all to be a successful entrepreneur.

David Jones takes us into the quick of archive fever, exploring a range of artworks which exist in or refer to real archives, and allow reflection on our compulsion to archive and the rethinking of memory that theories of the archive allow. In a turn to Pierre Nora this book moves particularly to consider artists' interest in remnants, in material traces and the culture of remains. The illuminating series of chapters, beautifully titled - 'Intermedial', 'Testimonial', 'Relational', 'Personal', 'Sublime' - offers a taxonomy of archivalist practice. The interpretations yielded, of major artworks by Samuel Beckett, Christian Boltanski, Mirosław Bałka, Atom Egoyan and others, are gripping, deft, melancholy and disarming. In fine theoretical readings and measured discussions of the individual projects David Jones shows here, so brilliantly, how archive art engages major current questions of human memory and ethics.

About the Author
John R. Townsend, Professor of Chemistry at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, completed his B.A. in Chemistry as well as the Approved Program for Teacher Certification in Chemistry at the University of Delaware. After a career teaching high school science and mathematics, he earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry at Cornell University, where he also received the DuPont Teaching Award for his work as a teaching assistant. After teaching at Bloomsburg University, he joined the faculty at West Chester University, where he coordinates the chemistry education program for prospective high school teachers and the general chemistry lecture program for science majors. He has been the university supervisor for more than 60 prospective high school chemistry teachers during their student teaching semester. His research interests are in the fields of chemical education and biochemistry. He may be contacted by email at jtownsend@wcupa.edu.

More confusing than the textbook

I wasted my money on this. The textbook examples are better and there are no solved book problems here at all. I have ordered the solutions manual and find that alot more helpful. If you need to choose, buy the sloutions manual instead!

Great Study Tool; However, no practice problems

The text clearly and effectively summarizes each section of each chapter of Chemistry and Chemical Reactivity including key terms, yet so does the actual textbook. If you are looking for practice problems for chemistry, this book is not in that ball park.
