Happy Fairy Tale Ending

Zoey finally gets through another encounter of ghosts and crazy paranormal activity and her goal is to free her ancestors and other cursed ghosts by King Geoffery. A very powerful ghost whose hate has made him borderline demonic, King Geoffery sets out to foil Zoey's attempt to free the ghosts and has set his sights on immortality. Only Zoey and her "Scooby gang" of psychics can help her solve the mystery along with the help from some others. The conclusion to the four book Enchanted Castle series.

The ending is sappy, typical and I just like it. The overall story is good but this last book seemed to drag. Glad I have the experience to read this series but thankful I can move on. I can handle only so much teenage stupid behavior before growing bored.

About the Author

David C. Thomas (PhD, University of South Carolina) is currently the Beedie Professor of International Management at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada. He is the author of ten books, including most recently The Multicultural Mind: Unleashing the Hidden Force for Innovation in Your Organization (Berrett-Kohler Publishers). He has also authored Essentials of International Human Resource Management: Managing People Globally from SAGE Publications (with Mila B. Lazarova) and the best selling Cultural Intelligence: People Skills for Global Business, published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers (with Kerr Inkson). With Peter B. Smith and Mark F. Peterson he published the Handbook of Cross-Cultural Management Research from SAGE Publications. His research on cross-cultural interactions in organizational settings has appeared in numerous journals. He is a past Area Editor for the Journal of International Business Studies and currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Advances in Global Leadership and European Journal of Cross-Cultural Competence and Management.

His previous academic postings have included positions at the Pennsylvania State University, the University of Auckland, New Zealand, where he was also Director of the Master of International Business Program, and The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) Sydney, Australia. He has held visiting positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Hawaii, Massey University, New Zealand, ESCEM, Tours, France, and Ko� University, Istanbul, Turkey. Mila B. Lazarova (PhD, Human Resources and Industrial Relations, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; MBA, International Business, the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria) is associate professor and Canada research chair in Global Workforce Management in the Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University, Canada. Her research interests include expatriate management with a focus on repatriation and the career impact of international assignments; work-life balance issues related to assignments; global careers; the role of organizational career development and work-life balance practices on employee retention; and the changing role of the human resources (HR) department in organizations. She also conducts research in comparative human resource management and is the Canadian contributor to CRANET, a long-term research collaboration of over 35 universities across the world that carries out a regular international comparative survey of organizational HR policies and practices.

Horrible textbook. Every sentence is unnecessarily long and convoluted, forcing you to constantly read every paragraph over and over again. At least if you're going to make an incredibly boring textbook, don't make it even harder on readers by having sentences with horrible sentence structure and unneeded amount of clauses. Literally could not read more than 3 pages at a time without falling asleep.

About the Author

Dr. Liang earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Okalahoma in 1991, and an MS and BS in Computer Science from Fudan University in Shanghai, China, in 1986 and 1983. Prior to joining Armstrong, he was an associate professor in computer science at Purdue University in Fort Wayne, where he twice received the Excellence in Research award.

Dr. Liang was trained in theoretical computer science. He was active in graph algorithms from 1990 to 1995 and published more than ten papers in several established journals such as SIAM Journal on Computing, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Acta Informatics, and Information Processing Letters. Since 1996, he has devoted to writing texts and published more than thirty books with Prentice Hall. His popular computer science texts are widely adopted in the world.

Dr. Liang was elected a Java Champion in 2005 by Sun Microsystems. He has given lectures on Java internationally.

The full potential of Java in one textbook

I've been programming with Java for a while now, and I can't stress how useful this textbook has been for me. If you're looking forward to grasp the full potential of Java, I definitely recommend this textbook over any other. When you purchase a new copy, you will also receive online access and more chapters. Just keep in mind that some chapters are exclusively on the web only.

Programming Made Now So Hard

It came to my house really quick about within 2 days. It comes with many chapters about general programming and advanced but the beginning chapters give you a really good foundation of how to program and what are terms and as well of what's java and other programming languages. Without this book I wouldn't have learn so much about making a program. This is too much information for a great value!

This book is much, much more than an intro to Java. It covers important libraries like the JavaFX (covered extensively) as well as persistence and messaging. It's also packed with real computer science material. There's enough to qualify the book as an undergraduate data structures textbook and, with the sections on time-complexity analysis and graphing, half of an analysis of algorithms course.

In short, if you read this book and successfully navigate some of the end of chapter questions, you will have thoroughly learned Java, be competent at writing moderate sized Java programs requiring complex concepts, and earned a third of your undergraduate computer science degree.

About the Author
Miller is Professor of Psychology and an affiliate member in Women's Studies at the University of Florida.

Scott A. Miller (Ph.D., Developmental Psychology, University of Minnesota, 1971) is Professor of Psychology at the University of Florida, where he regularly teaches survey courses in developmental psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a course on research methods in developmental psychology. He is a Fellow in the American Psychological Association Division 7, Developmental Psychology, and in the Society for Research in Child Development. His areas of research are cognitive development, social cognition, and Piaget. He has authored numerous research articles in such journals as Child Development, the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, Cognitive Development, the Journal of Cognition & Development, and the British Journal of Developmental Psychology. He is also an experienced textbook writer. In addition to Developmental Research Methods, he is a coauthor on Flavell, Miller, and Miller's Cognitive Development, Fourth Edition (Prentice Hall, 2002) and Vasta, Miller, and Miller's Child Psychology, Fourth Edition (Wiley, 2004).

An excellent text on cognitive development, clear and to the point.

I am a personal growth coach who studied in the areas of biology, biochemistry, physiology and psychology. I am familiar with neuroanatomy and the deeper workings of the brain. I also work one-to-one with clients and do public speaking on a variety of topics. Therefore, it is important for me to have a good understanding of development, especially cognitive development.

I have looked at a lot of books in this area and I find this to be one of the best general texts. The material is presented clearly and is easy to understand. While it has meaty concepts, they are delivered in a highly digestible form.

If you want to understand how the mind develops over time as a child ages, this is a good anchor book to have in your library. I also recommend the DEVELOPING MIND by Daniel Siegel. This is complimentary to this text and more up to date in many respects. It also brings in more neuroscience and less emphasis on cognition as such.

Expensive and difficult, but rewarding!

This is my text book for Developmental Cognitive Psychology. Many of the references are within a few years of publication, but it also doesn't neglect Piaget.

Should be required reading, regardless of political persuasion

First comment: the stars summary by Amazon is wrong. As of this review, although it says 32% of the reviews are 1 star, there's actually only a SINGLE 1-star review. That rating was regarding the order process, not the book.

I have never read anything which more clearly describes the immense issues we face currently with government. The book is facts (not alternative) -- not opinion or political slanting or wishful thinking. The subjects and concerns that Ms. Warren raises transcend any political party or ideology. Quite literally, the future of the USA will have dramatically less quality unless courses change.

Almost 1/2 of the book is devoted to voluminous notes backing up the content.

If you care about an America that is still "by the people and for the people", read this book!

Elizabeth Warren is fantastic and she is always right on the mark. I think this is a wonderful tribute to her legacy. America would be in a much better situation if she were listened to more and the American people appreciated all her efforts. A+++++++
